Pen Sketches

I love the old Bic Pen, it invites me to sketch, it's amazing that sometimes I do better with it than the pencil...I guess no smudging helps..

Insult

Happy New Year to all the honest people of this world!

I'll start the blog on 2010 with an earlier version of a cover for an Italian Book that has for subject "the insult";

The book has been published in Italy recently;

Cowboy Sketches

Normally I do not use Photoshop to draw,I find is much better and faster using the pencil or a pen,sure it gives you different solutions but it takes away the natural contact/feeling between the hand the pencil and the paper;

In any case,here some sketches i did to try it out sometimes ago.

Dog Poo

Just find an old sketch of a woman with her dog doing a poo saw outside my window;

Like in any city around the world, people take their dogs for a "walk" without carrying bags to pick up their droppings,of course it's never on the front/edges of their own houses, it's so annoying and disgraceful ....in this case the lady court my eyes because she did have the bag!

Good for her;)

Boy

Looking at the window this morning I saw a boy passing by...he was sad...here an impression..

Amigo

This morning at school a couple of friends (Gary and Steve shhh...)asked me a sketch of a Character "like the 3 Amigos for a Golf Competition"....I'm not sure what they are up to....anyway,here it is....

Richard Fawconer

For the launch of his brilliant classic science fiction first book trilogy : Siege at Gazbriz

I made a caricature of my friend Richard, he's a true "English Gentleman",a pleasure to be with, and a very clever chap,if you like this sort of book,click on the cover (right side of the blog)and you'll be able to read the first episode free of charge...

By the way,I did the cover for the book;

Vittorio Sgarbi

Last week I finished all the caricatures for the coming book,I must say if the schedule was not so tight I could have work on the color ones a bit more,but hey,there is always next time..

The guy in the picture is one of many Berlusconi's henchman, one of the worst I have ever seen in television...

Umberto Bossi

In the last month I have been doing lots of italian politicians caricatures for a book,it's fun to do it,but the schedule it's crazy and the photos off internet often difficult to read... anyway ,here is one of the Italian Northern League historical leader,an absolute tweet!!

Doodles

Few fun cow boys I did yesterday...

Delivery Ads Guy

As happen to all of us,we receive daily advertising leaflets/papers,apart from the post man,there the delivery boys/girls,through the window I saw today one of them,he was on the other side of the road,immediately I spotted his interesting shape,so I drew down what I remember in those 15 seconds I had the chance to look at him...

Waiter

having seen I'm in the "theme",here a profession which I'm very familiar with,in my home town Sorrento ,the waiter is one of the few seasonal jobs that the working class young people can do to survive(I did it as well im my youths years to earn some bucks...)the alternative is leaving...or unemployed!

Chefs

And here some more ....I must say I love eating the food cooked on charcoals...

Sicilian Chef
